FEBRUARY 2021

Virtual Screening #1 is Feb. 18 at 6 pm at the Nevada Arts Museum,Tickets: $5 General; FREE for Members & Students.  Tickets can be purchased online at nevadaart.org   Following this screening there will be a Q&A with Third Coast Dance Film Festival chief curator Rosie Trump and filmmaker Marta Renzi moderated by NMA director of public programs, Christian Davies.  (1 hour of films + Q&A)

Virtual Screening #2 is Feb. 20 at 7 pm at the Holland Project. This is a FREE event and a streaming link will be available at hollandreno.org.  (1 hour of films)

Video Installation is on view Feb. 1-28 at The Holland Project, 140 Vesta St. Reno, NV Gallery hours are Wed-Fri 12-6PM, the last Saturday of each exhibition, and by appointment. (25 minutes of films)

YOUTH SCREENINGS

New this year is a YOUTH screening, featuring dance films created by students.  The YOUTH screenings will tour to middle school and high school classrooms in Nevada and Maryland.

The 2014 festival screened eighteen film shorts, including thirteen international films from Canada, Germany, Israel, Mexico, Norway, South Korea, Spain, and the UK. The 90-minute program included three world, and five USA premieres.  Screening locations included Houston, TX, Reno, NV, Slippery Rock University, and a special edition at the 2015 Earth Matters on Stage Conference.  2014  also marked the inauguration of Third Coast Dance Film Festival film awards including two categories: ‘Best of the Festival’ and ‘Spirit of the Third Coast Dance Film Festival.’

The 2012 festival presented twenty-one film shorts, including five international films from Australia, Canada, Finland, Russia and Spain divided between Program A on September 15 and Program B on September 15 and 16, 7 p.m. at Rice University Cinema. The festival was co-curated by Rosie Trump and Lydia Hance  The 2012 Program toured to the Kaleidoscope Arts Festival at Slippery Rock University on April  2013.

2011 Third Coast Dance Film Festival

The 2011 festival featured 13 short films, including international films from Canada, Russia, Germany, and England, as well as four films from local Houston dance film makers.  The 2011 festival is currently on tour and screened at the Kaleidoscope Arts Festival at Slippery Rock University on April 26, 2012.
